Kathryn Bigelow's Osama Bin Laden film titled 'Zero Dark Thirty'; shoot met with protests

There seems to be no end to the controversy surrounding Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal's follow-up to their award winning hit, The Hurt Locker. Originally titled Kill Bin Laden, the film covering the hunt for the terrorist leader was delayed by an ongoing investigation spearheaded by congressman Peter King(R), alleging the Obama administration leaked classified information to the film makers. For this reason the release date was bumped back to December 19th after the Presidential elections, even though no evidence has been put forth to support King's claims.

Now, as production is finally underway, the set was met by a protest from the hard right wing Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Filming in the Indian city of Chandigarh, the protesters were infuriated by the plan to make it resemble the Pakistani city of Laghore, their sworn enemies. Apparently these people don't get very many movies made in their neck of the woods, not understanding that this is common practice. Vijay Bhardwa, a leader of the VHP had this to say...
We will not let them put Pakistani flags here and we will not let them shoot for the film."

Talks are underway with the VHP to resolve the situation, but filming has proceeded as normal. All of this information stems from Reuters, who also reveal the film will now work under the title of Zero Dark Thirty. That equates to 12:30AM in military jargon, roughly thirty minutes before Seal Team Six killed Bin Laden. The film isn't expected to wholly cover the now famous firefight, but also the behind the scenes procedural efforts that led to his discovery.

Joel Edgerton, Jessica Chastain, Edgar Ramirez, Kyle Chandler, Mark Strong, Chris Pratt, Jason Clarke, Harold Perrineau, Nash Edgerton, Jennifer Ehle and Fares Fares will star.
