Aussie actor Callan Mulvey cast in Kathryn Bigelow's 'Zero Dark Thirty' and '300: Battle of Artemisia'

You've probably never heard of Callan Mulvey, unless you live in Australia or have a fondness for importing Aussie cop dramas. He's been starring in Rush, a TV series that is now in its final season, but he must've kicked some ass because InsideFilm has him joining two big time flicks featuring international casts.

Although Kathryn Bigelow has been filming Zero Dark Thirty for about a month, the cast is still being pieced together. Mulvey is joining the hunt for Osama Bin Laden in an unspecified role, surrounded by a cast including Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton, Jason Clarke, Mark Strong, Edgar Ramirez, and Chris Pratt. The film opens on Christmas Day.

Mulvey will also be hitting the P90X pretty hard in preparation for a role in 300: Battle of Artemisia, the sequel to Zack Snyder's Spartan hit from 2007. We don't know who the heck he'll be in this, either, so assume he'll be shirtless, ripped, and wearing a loincloth. Directed by Noam Murro, he'll clash swords with Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Rodrigo Santoro, and Jamie Blackley. Look for it to open on August 2nd 2013. [ThePlaylist]
