Trailer Time: 'Library War: The Wings of Revolution'

Think Fahrenheit 451 with a Japanese spin, Hiro Arikawa's Library Wars light novels have proven to be not just some of the more thought provoking in recent years, but also one of the more popular. The award winning series has been spun off into manga, an excellent anime series(where I first learned about it), and even an internet radio show. What it hasn't had is its own film, although that is about to change as the entire anime voice cast is getting back together for Library War: The Wings of Revolution.

Directed by Takayuki Hamana(Appleseed XIII), the story takes place in a future version of Japan where a new law called the Media Betterment Act threatens to censor any media deemed detrimental to society. The film follows the Library Defense Force, a military unit designed to protect books from being destroyed and protecting the right to free expression.

The film will open in Japan on June 16th, and then hopefully we'll get a localized version some time after that. Check out the new trailer below....
