Trailer Time: 'Meeting Evil', starring Luke Wilson and Samuel L. Jackson
Chances are if you've watched one of those straight-to-DVD sequels of a film you saw in theaters it was probably directed by Chris Fisher. The director behind the recent Donnie Darko and Street Kings sequels turns his attention towards an adaptation of Meeting Evil, the chilling novel from Thomas Berger.
Luke Wilson is John, a down on his luck family man who unwittingly opens his doors to evil when he meets Richie(Samuel L. Jackson), a mysterious stranger who takes him down a violent, nightmarish path to murder.
If I had to compare Richie's character in the novel it would have to be Anton Chigurh, the cattle gun wielding, coin flipping tornado of violence from Cormac McCarthy's No Country for Old Men. Richie is pure chaos and evil, and Jackson seems to have the role nailed based on the new trailer. Unfortunately the rest looks straight-to-DVD worthy, especially Luke Wilson's bland acting. The film hits VOD on March 30th and in theaters on May 4th. Check out the trailer below....
