Taylor Lautner joined by David Henrie taking on Adam Sandler in 'Grown Ups 2'

Here's something that I missed while on vacation last week, and it's that Taylor Lautner will be squaring off against Adam Sandler and his pack of unfunny buds in the unwanted Grown Ups sequel. There appears to be some sort of youth movement going on here, or possibly the film's "plot" will have Sandler's crew proving they aren't so old against a pack of buff frat boys. A few weeks ago Project X star, Oliver Cooper, was added to the cast. Now today Variety reports that David Henrie, best known for starring in Wizards of Waverly Place, has joined the cast as well.

David Spade, Rob Schneider, Chris Rock, and Kevin James will all return, along with director Dennis Dugan. Lautner's role is expected to be light-hearted and will play off his heartthrob status, which means clothing is probably optional. For Henrie, this is the biggest film project of his young career. He recently voiced one of the lead characters in The Secret World of Arrietty.

This still sounds horrible, but I'm kinda interested in seeing how some of the less haggard stars may hold up against the established vets. Grown Ups 2 is set to open on July 12th 2013.
