Trailer Time: 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days', starring Zachary Gordon and Steve Zahn

The 'Wimpy Kid' movies have proven to be a nice, mid-level success the last couple of years, and surprisingly good to boot. Come to think of it, there isn't any other family oriented franchise of the last few years that comes close to matching their consistency and humorous approach to the horrors of pre-teen life.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days is the next in the series, based on the 3rd and 4th books in Jeff Kinney's novels. After surviving last year's torment at the hands of his older brother, Rodrick(Devon Bostick), wimpy kid Greg Heffley(Zachary Gordon) is back in trouble again as he and his best friend, Rowley(Robert Capron, last seen as a young Curly in The Three Stooges), are about to suffer the worst summer vacation of their lives.  Rachael Harris and Steve Zahn are back as Greg's parents, with David Bowers also returning to direct.

The first trailer has been released, and if you liked the first two films then you're probably gonna dig this one. One thing that worried me is that the other movies were released during the soft month of March, but this one opens in the dead of summer on August 3rd, where it'll likely get pounded by the combination of Total Recall and The Bourne Legacy.
