Brad Bird to direct Damon Lindelof penned '1952'
In June of last year we learned that Disney had hired Damon Lindelof(Lost, Prometheus) to script a super secret sci-fi project titled 1952. Nobody knows what the heck it is, even to this day, but we know who will be directing it, and their choice is simply out of this world.
Brad Bird, the guy behind such legendary animated films as The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, and Ratatouille, has signed on to helm the mysterious project. Bird, just coming off a massive score directing Mission: Impossible-Ghost Protocol will put his focus entirely on this film as Disney has lofty franchise expectations for it.
As for what it's about? I speculated last year that it would somehow tie in to the exploration of space, as 1952 was one of the most active of NASA's early history, testing out new forms of rocket technology. Then again, 1952 could just be a working title, right? And then all bets are off. [Deadline]
