Joseph Gordon-Levitt to star in 'Little Shop of Horrors' remake

Well, if there's anybody more perfectly suited to develop and star in a remake of the classic film and Broadway musical, Little Shop of Horrors, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the guy. If you saw his song and dance skills in 500 Days of Summer, or just checked out his HitRecord site, then you know he's a guy of many creative talents, and now we're going to see them all put to good use.

THR reports that JGL will star as Seymour, in the role made most famous by Rick Moranis in the 1986 film directed by Frank Oz. Roberto Aguire-Sacasa(Glee) will pen the script, telling the story of a florist who discovers a talking man-eating plant that feeds on human blood. Roger Corman came up with the film back in 1960, but it didn't become the cult favorite it is now until it was adapted to an off-Broadway musical before hitting the big stage.

Warner Brothers is housing this one, and they'll be working with JGL to find a director to take control of what could be a showcase for him.
