With Machete Kills due to start production anytime now, Robert Rodriguez has been furiously casting up the film with a wild assortment of actors even more crazy than previous film. With Demian Bichir and Amber Heard both joining this week, along with the returning Michelle Rodriguez, the latest to sign up is Modern Family star, Sofia Vergara.
The curvy comedic actress will play the leather-clad Madame Desdemona, who must run her own version of the Cathouse because her ladies have information Machete(Danny Trejo) desperately needs. Mel Gibson(!!!) will play the wealthy crimelord and arms dealer looking to launch a satellite into orbit, with Jessica Alba expected to return as well.
There's bound to be some more big names coming aboard in the next few days, and I'm betting we may see some of these faces also pop up for Rodriguez's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Call it a hunch. All in all, this seems like a perfect role for the showy Vergara. [Variety]
