What the heck is a Renesmee, anyway? If you don't know the answer to that question then chances are you don't have the release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn pt. 2 marked on your calendar. Renesmee Cullen is the dhampir child of Bella Swan(Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen(Robert Pattinson), and apparently she's very important for some undefined reason that will lead to a war with the Volturi. What are the Volturi? Where have you been the last four years?
Entertainment Weekly has the first look at Mackenzie Foy as Renesmee Cullen, kept hidden behind her two parents. Just a twinkle in Bella and Edward's eye for years, Breaking Dawn pt. 1 saw the two finally getting hitched, giving in to their long held desires, and giving birth to Renesmee in gruesome fashion. The result is that Bella is now a vampire, the rapidly growing Renesmee is extremely powerful, and the secretive cabal known as the Volturi aren't happy about any of it. At least we won't have to put up with the Bella/Edward/Jacob love triangle anymore.
"War" means a very different thing in the Twilight flicks, as there's been some sort of nemesis in all of them but very little action. It's mostly just people standing around looking pale and frustrated. Don't expect that to change when Breaking Dawn pt. 2 brings the saga to a close on November 16th.
