Peter Parker tries out for the NBA in a new 'The Amazing Spider-Man' clip

From what I've been able to gather, The Amazing Spider-Man clocks in about 2 hours and 10 minutes. And from what else I've been able to figure, we've seen nearly a dozen clips from the film already, so basically when we hit the theater on July 3rd we'll have like five minutes that'll be totally new to us. Awesome. Good job, Sony. It totally stinks of a desperate bid for attention, for a film that doesn't really need it.

What's worse, the quality of clips is getting worse. The latest looks like something out of friggin' Teen Wolf, and features Peter Parker(Andrew Garfield) using his superhuman abilities on the basketball court to make a fool of his bullying nemesis, Flash Thompson(Chris Zylka). The whole terrible mess with Parker performing a slam dunk that would make Daryl Dawkins jealous. Frankly, Parker comes off looking like a jerk in this clip.

Fun fact: In the comics, Flash Thompson eventually takes on the mantle of the evil symbiote Venom(after Eddie Brock loses it), and becomes a government sanctioned soldier. Despite recent comments to the contrary, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the path Sony ultimately takes for Venom when/if the film gets made.
