Sure Shots: Cam Gigandet; Ed Helms; Jennifer Connelly

* He of the mighty eyebrows, Cam Gigandet(Never Back Down), has joined the cast of Plush, the upcoming psycho-sexual thriller from Catherine Hardwicke. Well, at least we think that's what the film will be. Emily Browning is set to star, but there are two wildly different official plots floating around right now. One has Browning starring as a rock star who enters into a relationship with her crazed guitarist. The other, the one more commonly referred to, refers to a psychologist(Gigandet) who has the supernatural ability to enter his patients' minds, only to run into trouble when he discovers one patient(Browning) has the same talent. Hardwicke will not only direct, but produce and co-write the script with Artie Nelson. [Variety]

* Two big comedy projects on the way for Ed Helms, who already has The Hangover Part III looming on the horizon. First, he's joined the cast of They Came Together, the promising romantic comedy spoof starring Paul Rudd, Amy Poehler, and Jason Mantzoukas. Co-written and directed by David Wain, the story follows Joel and Molly, who meet and fall in love while his corporation seeks to shut down her small knick-knack shop. Helms will play Eggbert, a love interest of Molly's.

Helms will also make a cameo in We're the Millers, which currently stars Jennifer Aniston, Jason Sudeikis and Nick Offerman.  The long developing film centers on a pot dealer(Sudeikis) who puts together a fake family in order to transport a large quantity of marijuana across the border in an RV in order to make one last big score. Helms will play Sudeikis' boss who may have a sinister agenda. Rawson Thurber(Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) will direct. [Deadline]

* Although she was the first name out of the gate after Russell Crowe was confirmed to lead Darren Aronofsky's Noah, Jennifer Connelly hadn't actually been in talks like we all had thought. It was only a few weeks ago we learned she was merely on the wishlist, and as more talent came aboard, it started to look like Aronofsky might go in a different direction. Well, no need to worry, as she has now officially entered negotiations to play Noah's wife in the Biblical adaptation, telling the story of how he built the famous Ark before God threw the ultimate pool party. Emma Watson, Douglas Booth, Logan Lerman, and Ray Winstone co-star.  Noah is set to open on March 28th 2014. [Variety]
