Tony nominated Cristin Milioti to play Leonardo DiCaprio's wife in 'The Wolf of Wall Street'

There aren't many who would dare to try and match the soulful performance by Marketa Irglova in John Carney's Once, but Cristin Milioti has done it and comes pretty darn close. After earning a Tony award nomination for the stage version of the musical romance, she now turns her attention to the silver screen and a key role in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street.

Milioti has landed the plum gig of playing the wife opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, who stars as Jordan Belfort, a New York stockbroker whose fast life of drugs and excess destroyed a once promising career. Jonah Hill, Jean Dujardin, and Kyle Chandler co-star, based on a script by Terence Winter(The Sopranos). Belfort's first wife was an Italian-American hairdresser who saw her devotion to him repaid with devastating infidelity. The film is based on Belfort's own memoir.

Considering Milioti appeared a number of times for Winter on The Sopranos, her casting makes sense, and clearly that familiarity is paying off in spades. Filming on The Wolf of Wall Street begins later this summer, allowing her to keep up with her stage work. [Variety]
