Trailer Time: 'Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry', directed by Alison Klayman

A special Jury Prize winner at this year's Sundance Film Festival, Alison Klayman's acclaimed documentary, Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry, chronicles the controversial Chinese activist and the man many refer to as the most powerful artist in the world. Known for shining a light on the corruption and undemocratic policies of the Chinese government, Weiwei has become an international figure known for more than just his Warhol-esque style. So when he disappeared suddenly, arrested by Chinese officials in April 2011, it caused a deafening global outcry felt on the streets of Beijing and throughout social media.

A new trailer has been released ahead of the film's release here on July 27th, and it gives us a glimpse at the man's eccentric lifestyle and dynamic personality, but also the reverence the people of China have for him. Released from detainment a couple of months after his arrest, Weiwei remains trapped under a form of lock and key, unable to leave the country, but it hasn't become any less outspoken in fighting for the causes he believes in, or rallying his followers through social media and his provocative art.
