Trailer Time: 'Anna Karenina', starring Keira Knightley and Jude Law

While we were all justifiably blown away by the exuberant spectacle of Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby trailer, there's another luxurious adaptation of a classic novel that will be vying for our attentions. Joe Wright(Atonement) has been putting together his take on Anna Karenina, based on the classic love story by Leo Tolstoy, with Keira Knightley in the title role. With a release date set for November 9th, we're finally getting our first look at the striking new trailer along with a bright new poster.

Even without the trailer, the poster image alone gives you an idea of what to expect, as it looks very much like a glitzy stage production rather than a feature film. That's definitely not a bad thing, as Wright has never made a bad looking film yet, and this may be the most gorgeous yet. Wright shot the bulk of the film from a single, broken down sound stage outside London. Knightley looks regal and gorgeous as Anna, who flies in the face of 19th century Russian social standards by cheating on her husband with the much more alluring Count Vronsky. Jude Law will play Knightley's husband, while an unrecognizable Aaron Johnson(Kick-Ass) will play the Count. Olivia Williams, Alicia Vikander, Kelly MacDonald, Ruth Wilson, Matthew Macfadyen, and Domhnall Gleeson.
