On the very first night of Comic-Con, Lionsgate invited fans to an exclusive screening of Dredd 3D. I was too exhausted to attend, but word from many of my colleagues and friends who did has been relatively strong. The main thing I've heard is that at the very least, it's superior than that dreck Sylvester Stallone was in before. Not saying much, but hey, it's something, right? As long as they get the wanton violence and bloodshed of the graphic novels right, then that's enough for me.
A batch of new photos have been released for the film, which stars Karl Urban as the bucket helmeted officer of the law, who exacts deadly judgement on the criminals of Mega City One. Olivia Thirlby is his newbie partner, Judge Anderson, while Lena Headey is Ma-Ma, a drug dealer who rules from the top of a vast apartment complex.
