Trailer for anime 'Berserk: Golden Age Arc III: Descent'

There have been many adaptations of Kentarou Miura's violent warrior manga, Berserk, but I think this year has seen arguably the best ones yet. A couple of years ago, Studio 4C announced a seemingly impossible effort to adapt the entirety of Miura's long-running series, and they shot out of the gate by taking on the Golden Age arc which shows how the lead character, Guts, evolves into the gigantic sword-wielding "Black Swordsman" we all know and love.

So far we've seen the incredible first two chapters of the Golden Age Arc, and now we're getting the trailer for the final leg of the trilogy, Berserk Golden Age Arc III: Descent. Once planned to hit Japanese theaters at the end of the year, the film will now open next January and complete Guts' journey as a member of the mercenary Band of the Hawk. Unlike the previous two chapters, Descent veers away from the medievel and ventures into supernatural and horror territory, as Guts battles his former leader who has been transformed into a powerful demon.

As good as these Golden Age Arc flicks have been, I have my doubts that Studio 4C will ever be able to adapt Berserk in its entirety. The trailer's in Japanese, but we should be getting an English dub soon. Check it out below, then if you're into some truly great, action-packed anime pre-order Berserk Golden Age Arc I: The Egg of the King on Blu-Ray today....
