Awesome fan made recreation of Edgar Wright's 'Ant-Man' test footage
Other than the Iron Man 3 footage, by far the coolest thing about the Marvel panel at Comic-Con was the surprise reveal of Edgar Wright's Ant-Man test footage. Shot just a couple of weeks prior, it was basically a bare bones presentation to give us a glimpse at Wright's planned look and feel for the film. The high energy action and smooth size-shifting mechanics were impressive, especially considering the lack of recognizable faces and a lack of special effects. While there's been talk that Marvel may release the footage online at some point, it hasn't happened yet. Fortunately for us, Deviant Art user Samurai Jack has recreated it in storyboard format.
We still don't know that much about the story at this point, other than that Wright co-wrote the script with Joe Cornish(Attack the Block). We don't know who will be in the Ant-Man suit, nor has there been any confirmation on a set shooting date. Some have production beginning next year for release in 2014, and the possibility exists that Ant-Man will turn up in the Iron Man 3 post-credits sequence involving Chen Lu aka The Radioactive Man.
Anyway, here's the recreation of the test footage. Try to imagine it in action. Check it out below....
