Jake Gyllenhaal joins 'Prisoners' with Hugh Jackman and Melissa Leo

Jake Gyllenhaal has always been a popular actor and all, but lately he seems to have really hit his stride creatively. He's currently receiving some of the best reviews of his career for the cop drama End of Watch, and i thought he was stellar last year in Source Code. His summer was spent shooting An Enemy for director Denis Villeneuve(Incendies), and the two must've hit it off because the two are about to work together again.

THR reports that Gyllenhaal has entered talks to star in Prisoners, the long in development crime thriller which has Hugh Jackman and the newly added Melissa Leo starring. Aaron Guzikowski's Black List approved script follows a small town carpenter(Jackman) who takes matters into his own hands when the cops fail to locate the men who kidnapped his daughter and best friend. Gyllenhaal would play the detective who butts heads with Jackman's character, basically the role I hoped Leo would get. She's actually not mentioned at all in THR's report, so who knows where that stands.

Prisoners is set to kick off next year once Jackman is completed on The Wolverine.
