Steve Carell and James Gandolfini just finished working together on the magician comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone alongside Jim Carrey. The film doesn't come out for awhile yet, but the two may be working together before that on a new comedy that is already drawing some familiar interest.
Showbiz411 reports the two will star in The Bone Men, which has nothing to do with The Bone Collector, I assure you. Instead it will have them playing two paleontologists in the 1800s, and that's pretty much all we know at this point except that it comes from Carell's production company. HBO, where Gandolfini spent years on The Sopranos and recently signed up for a pilot called Criminal Justice, is said to be circling the film now. Fox2000 is also in the running.
It's hard to argue with this pairing, even if the basic premise sounds a little weak. I'll withhold judgement until we start learning more about who will direct it.
