Michael Bay has been pretty open about his casting plans for Transformers 4, and it looks like we're going to be seeing an all-new set of human stars to join the Autobots in a story that may or may not be set in outer space. At one point we heard rumors that Jason Statham would take over as the lead with Shia LaBeouf choosing not to return. Those rumors turned out not to be true, as awesome as that might've been, but with production set to begin soon we're starting to hear more potential casting rumors surface.
SpoilerTV has a bare bones story that a search is on for an actress to take the female lead of a high school senior. A guy to play her Texas race car driver boyfriend is also in the works. Hmm...somehow I think Statham would be too old. This is obviously a rumor to tuck under your hat for now until we get something more official, but right away I'm thinking Bay is probably rifling through old Victoria's Secret mags for his star.
Transformers 4 is being written by Ehren Kruger and is set to open on June 27th 2014.
