Charlize Theron in talks to join Seth MacFarlane's 'A Million Ways to Die in the West'

I'm still trying to figure out when Seth MacFarlane gets any sleep during the day. Maybe he's a vampire? He's got about a thousand hit shows on the air which he takes an active role in, and he'll be hosting the Oscars in a few weeks. All the while he's building his Hollywood rep thanks to the smash success of last year's Ted, and now his follow-up to that is beginning to round into shape.

Heat Vision reports that Charlize Theron has entered talks to star in A Million Ways to Die in the West, MacFarlane's second directorial effort. Said to be in the vein of  Blazing Saddles, the Western comedy follows a farmer who wimps out on a gunfight, causing his girlfriend to leave him. MacFarlane would star as the farmer, while Theron would presumably play the wife of a notorious outlaw who teaches him how to shoot as he falls in love with her. MacFarlane will also write the script with Family Guy scribes Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild.

Theron's proven to be an incredibly talented comic actress and should fit in with MacFarlane's style of humor perfectly. After a few lean years she's been on a roll lately with Young Adult, Prometheus, and Snow White and the Huntsman. She recently wrapped up George Miller's Fury Road, and is set to lead a Sympathy for Lady Vengeance remake. Filming on MacFarlane's film could begin in May.
