First trailer for the Coen Brothers' 'Inside Llewyn Davis' starring Oscar Isaac

Wow, this kind of came out of nowhere, didn't it? The Coen Brothers' next film, the folk music tale Inside Llewyn Davis, has been one of the biggest question marks going into this year. It still doesn't even have a firm release date, but with the reveal of this impressive first trailer also comes word that it will be showing sooner than we thought.

Set in the 1960s Greenwich Village folk music scene, the film is loosely based on the story of musician Dave van Ronk, known as the Mayor of MacDougal Street and inspiration to numerous greats such as Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan. Beautifully shot and looking completely unlike any Coen Brothers film I've seen, it stars the musically-gifted Oscar Isaac in the title role as a man trying to find his way. At first I wasn't sure Carey Mulligan would fit in, but she seems to have really taken to the Coens' style of dialogue.

The film also stars Garrett Hedlund, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, and Adam Driver. This looks great, and if the wait for it is just too much to handle, Sony is apparently holding a special screening on their lot next month. Planning to RSVP? Let us know. [TOH]
