'The Muppets 2' adds Ray Liotta to the cast

1999's Muppets from Space is generally considered one of the worst Muppets movies, and for very good reason. It's just not all that funny, and despite Gonzo being my favorite of Jim Henson's crew, the focus on him and not Kermit was a little weird. Did I mention it's not all that funny? What it did have was the usual plethora of celebrities in quirky cameos, and one of those was Ray Liotta back when he was pretty darn popular.

Now he's venturing back into the fold as Variety reports he'll appear in The Muppets 2, James Bobin's sequel to 2011's hit comeback film. His role is being kept under wraps, but I wouldn't be totally surprised if he played a security guard just as he did before. He joins Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, and Ty Burrell in the European-set caper. This is the second sequel Liotta has joined in the span of just a few days, recently signing on for Robert Rodriguez's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.

The Muppets 2 opens on March 21st 2014.
