With Hollywood currently tapping young adult book and superhero comic you can think of into a franchise could the next big thing exploited in a movie will be DeviantArt?
Well it might be the case if Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Beau Flynn have success turning an illustration by Alex Panagopoulos into a film for New Line. Tentatively titled Teddy Bear, the film is inspired by a piece of art that shows a sleeping girl being protected from a large, toothy monster by a small Teddy Bear wielding a wooden sword and shield. The piece, which has over a 100,000 views on DeviantArt, was brought to the attention of the group by Hiram Garcia. Garcia, who produced Journey 2: The Mysterious Island along with Johnson and Flynn, is now working with the pair in the early stages of turning this drawing into a hopeful film franchise.
