English-dubbed trailer for Studio Ghibli's 'From Up on Poppy Hill'

We can probably argue which studio is more beloved between Pixar and Studio Ghibli, but the fact remains both achieved that acclaim by treating their movies with the utmost respect and care. Animation is a secondary form of entertainment for all too many studios, who favor big name voice talents and technology over a deep and mature story. That's something you'll never see from cherished filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki, and he's back with his son Goro for the low-key From Up on Poppy Hill.

We've seen a Japanese trailer for the film previously, but with a number of American celebrities coming aboard to do voice-over, a new English-dubbed one has been released. Ron Howard, Christina Hendricks, Gillian Anderson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Aubrey Plaza, Anton Yelchin, and Isabelle Fuhrman help voice the story of a group of teenagers in 1964 Japan as the country readies for The Olympics.

Hayao co-wrote the script, while Goro seems to have taken on his father's subtle approach to filmmaking, with a heavy emphasis on character and mood. From Up on Poppy Hill hits our shores on March 15th.
