As if the wait for Anchorman: The Legend Continues finally coming to an end wasn't good enough, last year eager fans were treated to the prospect of Kristen Wiig joining the cast. Best of all, she was rumored to be playing the love interest of Brick Tamland, meaning she'd be sharing some hilarious time with Steve Carell. Now we can stop calling it rumor and stamp it as fact, thanks to this tweet by director Adam McKay....
"Just found out Kristen Wiig officially on board for Anchorman 2. Cannonball!"
She'll be joining the returning Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Carell, David Koechner, and Christina Applegate in a story set in the late 1970s, on the cusp of the 24-hour news cycle. Expect tons of celebrity cameos, big music numbers, and maybe even another gang fight.
Anchorman: The Legend Continues arrives on December 20th.
