Zombies zombies and more zombies in the 'World War Z' Super Bowl TV spot
In terms of sheer audience size, it doesn't get any bigger than Super Bowl weekend, and as has been the trend in recent years, the studios are pumping out TV spots for their most high profile films. It's a smart move on their part to reach as many folks as possible and get the word out, even if most of the actual content isn't all that great. Case in point, Paramount's Super Bowl spot for World War Z.
They've released the 33-second ad early, and mostly it's stuff we've seen before with Brad Pitt nearly overtaken by millions of computer animated zombies. The film has had some pretty extensive reshoots lately, so they may still be trying to tighten those up. As a huge fan of Max Brooks' book, I can't tell you how disappointing it is that the film's only goal seems to be to cram as many of the undead on the screen as possible.
Directed by Marc Forster (which should also give one pause), World War Z arrives June 21st.
