Those who turn out for Wong Kar Wai's martial arts masterpiece
The Grandmaster probably won't be surprised to see Zhang Ziyi in it kicking considerable amounts of ass. It's what most American audiences know her for thanks to 2000's
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, the film that really made her a star. A
sequel has been in the works for awhile, with Michelle Yeoh set to return as Yu Shu Lien and
Ip Man star Donnie Yen coming aboard as Silent Wolf, and now it appears Zhang Ziyi is considering a comeback as well.
EW reports that Ziyi is now in talks to appear as Jen Yu in the newly-titled
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon-The Green Destiny. Legendary fight choreographer Yuen Woo-Ping is directing, having worked on the first film,
The Matrix, and
The Grandmaster, so the dude knows his stuff. The story by John Fusco (
Hidalgo) is based on the fifth book in the "Iron Pentalogy",
Silver Vase, Iron Knight.
Production was to have begun back in May but was recently pushed to next March.
