Full Trailer for 'Hercules: The Legend Begins' Starring Kellan Lutz
There are two big Hercules movies on the way, and producers on both are angling for whatever advantage they can find over the other. Brett Ratner's film comes with the star power of Dwayne Johnson, which will no doubt make it the most likely box office hit. But Renny Harlin's Hercules: The Legend Begins will arrive a whole four months earlier, meaning star Kellan Lutz will get to make the first impression as the mythological son of Zeus. After teasing the first trailer a couple of days ago, the full version is here after premiering at New York Comic-Con.
Until we see how Ratner's film looks it's obviously impossible to compare, but Harlin's resembles 300 by way of Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Lutz plays a version of Hercules who has apparently forsaken his godly heritage, and has fallen in love with Hebe, the soon-to-be wife of his brother, Iphicles. To stop Hercules from ruining the marriage, he's exiled and sent to be an arena gladiator where he must spill lots of blood, in slow motion of course, to have a chance of returning home. The mystical elements look like they come into play later on, and clearly designed to make use of the 3D technology.
Also starring Liam McIntyre, Scott Adkins, Johnathon Schaech, and Gaia Weiss, Hercules: The Legend Begins opens March 2014.
