New Posters for 'A Madea Christmas'; 'The Double'; 'The Book Thief'; and 'Vampire Academy'

Maybe this is what happens when you don't have anybody around to speak some cold truth, but surely Tyler Perry understands why these posters for A Madea Christmas are super creepy? I think Bad Santa and A Christmas Story have forever ruined the shopping mall Santa Clause for most of us, but Perry has me wanting to call Child Protective Services. Anyway, the film has Madea out in the country visiting a friend's daughter, only to get swept up in the town's Christmas festivities. Chad Michael Murray, Tika Sumpter, Anna Maria Horsford, Alicia Witt, and Larry the Cable Guy will co-star in this holiday lump of coal arriving December 13th.

After debuting to extremely positive reviews in Toronto, two stylish posters have arrived for Richard Ayoade's black psycho-comedy The Double that split Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska in half. The split personality theme carries over into the film as well, which is based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's novella about a shy man who sees his life taken over by an aggressive and confident doppelganger. Still no word on a release date but we can probably expect to see it in 2014.

Burning books, Nazi swastikas, and an act of simple love at the heart of it, the latest poster for The Book Thief strikes an extremely powerful image. But can the film, which stars Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson, and Sophie NĂ©lisse live up to the beloved best-selling novel by Markus Zusak? The story follows the relationship between a girl and her foster parents in Nazi Germany, and how she learns to cope by indulging in her love of books. Directed by Brian Percival, The Book Thief could be a sneaky Oscar contender when it arrives November 15th.

The latest poster Vampire Academyis just cheeky enough to believe that maybe Heathers writer Daniel Waters and his brother, Mean Girls director Mark Waters, are going to add a little wit and humor to supernatural teen romances. As for the story, it still sounds crazy convoluted and confusing, so here's the official synopsis for the film arriving next Valentine's Day:

"Based on author Richelle Mead’s worldwide bestselling series, VAMPIRE ACADEMY tells the legend of Rose Hathaway (Zoey Deutch) and Lissa Dragomir (Lucy Fry), two 17-year-old girls who attend a hidden boarding school for Moroi (mortal, peaceful Vampires) and Dhampirs (half-vampire/half-human guardians). Rose, a rebellious Guardian-in-training and her best friend, Lissa – a royal vampire Princess – have been on the run when they are captured and returned to St.Vladamir’s Academy, the very place where they believe their lives may be in most jeopardy. Thrust back into the perils of Moroi Society and high school, Lissa struggles to reclaim her status while Rose trains with her mentor and love-interest, Dimitri (Danila Kozlovsky), to guarantee her place as Lissa’s guardian. Rose will sacrifice everything to protect Lissa from those who intend to exploit her from within the Academy walls and the Strigoi (immortal, evil vampires) who hunt her kind from outside its sanctuary."
