The 'Veronica Mars' movie has a new featurette, same old love triangle

Here's the thing: Jason Dohring, a.k.a. Logan Echolls, does things to me that I CANNOT DISCUSS IN POLITE COMPANY. As in, he's the perfect bad boy, he and Veronica's love is epic, and this new featurette for the Veronica Mars movie doesn't want you to forget it.

By now, you know the story: The Veronica Mars fundraising campaign basically made Kickstarter its bitch, raising shocking amounts of money in a shockingly short time and creating all kinds of Internet backlash centered around the argument of, "Why are we paying money to Warner Bros. so they can make a movie we want to watch, and then we'll have to pay to see that movie, too?" And I get it; really, I do. I know that Warner Bros. is taking advantage of us here. I know that's why the show isn't on Netflix anymore, because they want to make money off of people buying the DVDs. I get all of those logical arguments. But then I watch this featurette, and I'm lost.

Because, as Rob Thomas promised, basically everyone is back! Man, does he know how to please demanding fanboys and fangirls, like yours truly, who wanted a true reunion. And we basically are getting one, since part of the movie takes place at their high school reunion. Meta genius!

Kristen Bell is back as Veronica, of course, and Jason Dohring as Logan, and that guy who plays Piz who actually grew up to be kind of hot, and Mac and Dick and Wallace. The featurette focuses on the love triangle between Veronica, Keith, and Piz, which was introduced in the third and final season and replaced the previous love triangle of Veronica, Duncan, and Logan. I don't think Duncan will be back - he was pretty effectively out of the show after the first season - but Keith Mars and Weevil will be, even though we don't see either of them in this trailer. But there's Deputy Leo! And Gia! And Principal Clemmons! And on and on and on.

And guys, just watch this thing. If you're not grinning like a jerk afterward, you probably don't have a soul. Or you don't like Veronica Mars. And really, what's the difference?

Veronica Mars comes out in spring 2014. Start your countdowns.
