'The Wolf of Wall Street' Clocks in at 179 Min, Longest of Scorsese's Career
Remember a few weeks ago when it was suggested Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street would clock in at 2hours and 45 minutes? Well, scratch that. According to French distributor Metropolitan Filmexport, the tale of corporate greed has been filled out to a hefty 2 hours and 59 minutes.
Perhaps it makes sense that a film about the dangers of excess would have such a lengthy runtime, but part of the reason it was delayed initially was so that Scorsese could trim it down. It doesn't appear that he did much editing at all as it now ranks as the longest of his career, one minute longer than Casino, a great film that more than overstayed its welcome.
So there you go. Don't buy any big sodas and hit the head before the movie starts. The Wolf of Wall Street opens on Christmas Day. [Allocine]
