Is there a more polarizing Best Picture winner than Paul Haggis' Crash? The film, which took the theme of racism and turned it into something trite, was unfortunately just the start of a downward spiral for Haggis that he has yet to level off from. Last year at TIFF he debuted his latest film, Third Person, and considering it has yet to gain distribution even with a great cast, it's likely Haggis has served up another dud.
Starring Liam Neeson, James Franco, Mila Kunis, Olivia Wilde, Adrien Brody, Maria Bello, and Kim Basinger, it's another case of Haggis threading a series of interconnected stories. These span the globe from Paris, to New York, to Rome, exploring various romantic entanglements and...ummm, human trafficking. Yeah, whatever. My beef with Haggis is that he doesn't trust his audiences to figure anything out on their own. Only time will tell if that again applies to Third Person.
Who knows when we'll see this in America. Maybe never. So just enjoy the trailer below. [via ThePlaylist]
