The 1968 Roman Polanski film about a mother unwittingly carrying the spawn of Satan is easily one of the most iconic films of the horror genre, a remake was inevitable. In a slight turn from the norm we get this new take in the form of a four hour mini-series set to premier May 11th, 2014 on NBC. Zoe Saldana will play Rosemary, who's husband Guy makes a deal with the "Duh how could you not tell this guy is bad" Roman (played by Jason Isaacs aka Lucious Malfoy). Rosemary and Guy get all of the financial security they need and Roman gets a vessel to bring back Satan, not that Rosemary knows that.
I'm honestly not sure how I feel about this just yet. On one end the story doesn't require anything graphic, nudity or violence, to be effective, but on the other end network television has yet to prove that they can really deliver the high level of psychological horror that makes the original film such a classic. Well, at the end of the day at least we have another reason to see Zoe Saldana on screen.
