Denzel Washington can't be Stopped in New Trailer for 'The Equalizer'
With the arrival of September and the beginning of the build for awards season, the number of big studio projects takes a dive as the prestige films take over. But there are still some potential blockbusters out there that may not quite be on the level of summer's offerings, and one of those is The Equalizer, which stars Denzel Washington in a remake of the 1980s cult favorite TV series.
A new trailer and poster for the action flick has been released, and it features much of the same footage seen in earlier cuts. But the new stuff is decidedly more violent and shows off the film's hard R-rating. Denzel reteams with his Training Day director Antoine Fuqua in the remake, which has him as ex-Black Ops agent Robert McCall. He's been trying to put his dark past aside for years, but when he encounters a young prostitute (Chloe Grace Moretz) in trouble with Russian mobsters, his protective instinct kicks in and he becomes the "knight in shining armor" he used to be.
The Equalizer opens September 26th and co-stars Melissa Leo, Marton Csokas, and Bill Pullman.
