Elizabeth Olsen Joins Tom Hiddleston in Hank Williams Biopic 'I Saw the Light'

While her dance card has been full of blockbusters lately, like Godzilla and Avengers: Age of Ultron, Elizabeth Olsen has done a pretty good job of keeping to her indie roots. This year she's managed to take part in two art house films, In Secret and Very Good Girls, both which flew under the radar despite good notices. And now Olsen is set to take on another film that doesn't feature giant lizards or mutant powers (presumably), joining fellow Marvel-ite Tom Hiddleston in the Hank Williams biopic, I Saw the Light.

Written and directed by Marc Abraham (Flash of Genius), I Saw the Light is based on Colin Escott's biography that follows Williams' short but influential life and career in country music. After growing up dirt poor in Alabama, Williams went on to score eleven #1 hits, including classics like "Your Cheatin' Heart" and "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry". He also lived a hard and fast life, treating his pain from spina bifida with drugs and alcohol. Olsen will play his first wife, Audrey Mae Sheppard, a talented country singer in her own right.

Filming on I Saw the Light begins next month.
