I don't watch a ton of television, but one of my favorite shows of all time is Married...with Children. The Fox series was one of the network's first breakout shows once they started taking on original programming in the late '80s, and followed poor Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill) as he dealt with incredible amounts of disrespect at home and at his awful job. The show ran for eleven seasons, maybe half of those were truly great, and after twenty years away it may be headed back to TV with a spinoff.
According to E!, a Married...with Children spinoff centering on the pathetic son Bud Bundy (David Faustino) is in the development stages at Sony Pictures Television. No word on the details or if any other cast members would return, but they may be a tough get. Everyone on the show has kept busy over the years. O'Neill is a star of ABC's Modern Family, Katey Sagal, who played horny wife Peg Bundy, stars on FX's Sons of Anarchy, and Christina Applegate has had success on the big and small screen.
So what would the show be about? Has Bud actually managed to find a girl and get married? Or would it be about his sad attempts to get a date? Hopefully it's the latter as those were some of my favorite recurring gags.
