2009's great coming-of-age drama An Education not only introduced us to the supremely talented Cary Mulligan, it also put Dutch director Lone Scherfig on the map for a lot of people. It's been a little bit of a wait for her follow-up, The Riot Club, but it's another look at British high society and priviledge with a cast that's full of potential.
Sam Claflin, Max Irons, Natalie Dormer, Holliday Grainger (Bonnie & Clyde), Douglas Booth, Jessica Brown Findlay, Sam Reid (Belle), Olly Alexander (God Help the Girl), and Tom Hollander star in the film which screenwriter Laura Wade based on her popular stageplay. She drew inspiration from the real-life Bullingdon Club, Oxford University's most exclusive society that has produced some of the most powerful and prestigious figures in the U.K. The Riot Club premiered this weekend at TIFF, and since we all can't be there these two clips will have to suffice in showing what happens when rich, spoiled brats all get together in one place.
The Riot Club opens in the U.K. on September 19th but nothing for the U.S. yet.
