First Look at Liam Neeson in 'Run All Night'; Joins 'The Escapist' Remake

This weekend Liam Neeson will do his thing, namely playing an old guy beating up younger dudes in Taken 3, but he's taken to playing the tough guy in other films. In fact, it's getting hard to tell one Neeson role from the next, and certainly the photos and trailers are starting to blend together. Speaking of which, some new images from Neeson's next action flick, Run All Night, have now been released. And not only that, but Neeson has signed on to be the badass in a remake of Rupert Wyatt's breakout feature, The Escapist.

First up, Neeson has agreed to star in an American remake of Wyatt's prison thriller, The Escapist, which starred Brian Cox as a prison inmate who formulates a plan to escape and see his sick daughter. Wyatt may be known now as the guy who directed Rise of the Planet of the Apes and The Gambler, but it was on The Escapist that he first drew attention. Sean O'Keefe will pen the screenplay while Wyatt will stick around as a producer. So far there's no word on a director but it shouldn't take Legendary Pictures long to find one.

Perhaps they'll try to reteam Neeson with director Jaume Collet-Serra, who he's worked with three times already on Unknown, Non-Stop and on his next film, Run All Night. New images from the thriller show Neeson and co-stars Joel Kinnaman and Ed Harris. Taking place over the course of 24 hours, the story has Neeson as a mob hitman known as "the Gravedigger" who must protect his son when he witnesses a mob slaying. Also starring Common, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Beau Knapp, Run All Night opens February 6th.
