Olivia Wilde Returns from Hell in First Trailer for 'The Lazarus Effect'

Apparently nobody in the new film The Lazarus Effect bothered to watch either Flatliners because they'd know things tend to badly when people are brought back from the dead. Those who turned out to see The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death over the weekend may have seen the first trailer for The Lazarus Effect starring Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass, and now that footage has hit the web.

In one sense it's kind of funny that this horror flick about dead people is being directed by David Gelb who gave us the foodie documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi, but it looks like he's made a pretty sound genre transition here. Duplass and Wilde play med students who uncover a way to bring things back from the dead, but when the experiment is performed on Wilde's character she's undergone some serious changes. From the look of it she's been brought back from Hell itself and that means people gotta start dying permanently.

Also starring Donald Glover (who seems to get killed in this too revealing trailer), Evan Peters, and Sara Bolger, The Lazarus Effect opens February 27th.
