Charlie Hunnam Replaces Benedict Cumberbatch in 'The Lost City of Z'

The unfortunate fact when it comes to being part of Marvel's sprawling cinematic universe is that it doesn't leave much time for anything else, and someone who is learning that is future Doctor Strange, Benedict Cumberbatch. Unfortunately he's been forced to drop out of James Gray's upcoming film, The Lost City of Z, but a replacement has already been found.

Charlie Hunnam, who would have worked with Cumberbatch on Crimson Peak if Cumberbatch hadn't dropped out of that too,will take over the lead in Gray's film. The Lost City of Z stars Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller, and centers on explorer Colonel Percy Harrison (Hunnam) who became obsessed with the idea of a secret civilization deep within the Amazon. After numerous attempts to find it, he and his son took one final expedition from which neither returned.

Filming begins this summer, so at least the project is moving forward.  [TheWrap]
