Tyrese Gibson is set to star and co-write Desert Eagle, which he penned alongside Mike Le (Patient Zero). Matthew Stuecken and Josh Campbell will rewrite the script which centers on a pair of border patrol agents investigating a drug cartel operating out of a Native American reservation casino. Gibson will be seen next reprising his role as Roman Pierce in Furious 7, and has a new album releasing in May. [Deadline]
Asa Butterfield (Ender's Game) has signed up to headline the family sci-fi adventure, Out of this World, which will be directed by Hector and the Search for Happiness' Peter Chelsom. Allan Loeb wrote the script about a boy named Gardner who was born and raised on Mars in secret. Sixteen years later he returns to Earth and embarks on a road trip to find the father he never knew.
