First Clip from Cameron Crowe's 'Aloha' Features Bradley Cooper and Rachel McAdams

Coming off his Oscar-nominated, but deadly serious, performance in American Sniper, Bradley Cooper is taking on something easier in Cameron Crowe's Hawaiian rom-com, Aloha. He stars alongside Rachel McAdams and Emma Stone, and if you figured there were a bunch of silly romantic entanglements broken up by long-winded, trivial conversations about them, then you guessed right. This is a Crowe film, after all.

Set in Hawaii, the film has Cooper starring as a defense contractor who falls in love with a young Air Force pilot (Stone) who is his complete polar opposite. McAdams plays his ex, and in this first scene we get an idea why they broke up. Yep, totally trivial stuff here, but Crowe will put some eclectic music behind all this stuff and somebody, somewhere will find it profound.

I loved We Bought a Zoo a few years ago because it was slightly different from a Crowe standpoint. but Aloha has the stench of Elizabethtown all over it. It's worth noting the screenplay has been around for years and maybe that's why this seems like such a step backwards. We'll find out when Aloha opens on May 29th.
