Danish director Lone Scherfig hasn't found quite the same measure of success as 2009's An Education, which introduced the world to Carey Mulligan. Neither One Day or the recently-released The Riot Club have made much noise, but the BAFTA-nominated director is bouncing back with an adaptation of Lissa Evans' WWII novel, Their Finest Hour and a Half. Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay) and Lily James (Cinderella) were announced for the film last fall, but there has now been some shuffling at the top of the card.
James has apparently dropped out of the film while Claflin remains on board and joined by Gemma Arterton (Byzantium) and Bill Nighy. The story centers on a British movie crew charged with making a patriotic film to boost morale after the German blitz of WWII. TV veteran Gaby Chiappe (Eastenders) wrote the screenplay.
Filming is set to begin this summer. [Deadline]
