Neil LaBute doesn't do cuddly relationship films. The Shape of Things, In the Company of Men, Lakeview Terrace...he often peels back the layers of his characters to reveal a very ugly side underneath, and his latest film Dirty Weekend is probably going to do the same.
Starring Matthew Broderick and Alice Eve (who starred in LaBute's Some Velvet Morning), the first trailer for Dirty Weekend has arrived prior to its premiere at Tribeca. The story follows business colleagues Les and Natalie who are stuck in Albuquerque, a place where Les has some pretty bad memories...even if he can't fully recall them. As the day goes by they learn far more about one another than either could ever want.
Knowing LaBute, there's probably going to be at least one majorly nasty secret to emerge. The Tribeca Film Festival begins this week.
