Hit the streets of DC this week and you might see a couple of familiar faces, like Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley. They're currently in town filming Oliver Stone's Edward Snowden biopic, Snowden, and now Open Road has dropped a brand new image from the Nation's Capital.
JGL plays Edward Snowden, who obtained top secret NSA documents and leaked them to the public, revealing the extent of the government's surveillance program. The leaks have made Snowden "Public Enemy #1" to those who label him a traitor, while others see him as a national hero. Shailene Woodley plays his girlfriend who didn't learn about Snowden's actions until he had already fled the country.
This image couldn't come at a better time, actually, with Snowden recently appearing in a hilarious yet informative interview on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. You can check out some of that interview below. Snowden, which also stars Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Nicolas Cage, Scott Eastwood, Keith Stanfield, and Tom Wilkinson, hits theaters on Christmas Day.
