With Justin Lin set to direct, Simon Pegg co-writing the script, and Idris Elba rumored for a villain role, Star Trek 3 is slowly beginning to come together. And now the rest of the cast is starting to take shape with the addition of Sofia Boutella, who many will recognize as the razor-legged villainess of Kingsman: The Secret Service.
Boutella's role in the Star Trek sequel is being kept a mystery, so let the speculation begin. The most frequent rumors are that the Klingons will be the main enemies this time around, although Pegg recently refuted those stories...
"That’s not true. No, no, no. I heard there’s a rumor he’s been spoken to about stuff, so he may be in the film but he won’t be a Klingon. [Laughs.] Or maybe he will"!
Then again, Pegg also told us Benedict Cumberbatch wasn't Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness so take anything he says with a grain of salt. Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, and Zachary Quinto will return for Star Trek 3 on July 8th 2016.
