Two 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' TV Spots; Writers Hired for 'Avengers: Infinity War'

How close are we to Avengers: Age of Ultron finally smashing its way into your local multiplex? So close the film has already been screened for some members of the press (not us, sadly) and the early reviews have been out of this world. If this is really Joss Whedon's swansong as part of the Marvel Universe, it appears he's going out with a bang.

For now, Marvel has released a pair of TV spots highlighting the blockbuster-sized action. It's the classic "artificial intelligence goes bad" story only on a much larger scale as Tony Stark's creation becomes the robotic villain Ultron. The team must put their differences aside to stop Ultron's plot to destroy humanity, but we already know everything isn't going to get worked out in time.

How do we know? Well, there's that whole Captain America: Civil War thing coming up. That will lead to the team having split apart by 2018's Avengers: Infinity War part 1, which we now know will be written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The duo are the big hitters of the Marvel bullpen, having written all three Captain America movies and Thor: The Dark World. They even wrote the pilot episode of Agent Carter. They're the most reliable guys Marvel's got and this is a pretty big reward.

Avengers: Age of Ultron arrives on May 1st. Avengers: Infinity War part 1 opens May 4th 2018 with part 2 coming a year later.
