Filming has gotten underway on David Ayer's Suicide Squad, which already features a big enough cast of superstars. But they can't all be A-listers in this ensemble, and now Variety reports The Twilight Saga's Alex Meraz is the latest to come aboard. He'll be joined by character actor David Harbour (The Newsroom) who was recently spotted on set.
Meraz is best known for playing Paul Lahote in the Twilight films, but this will be the biggest project he's undertaken since the franchise ended in 2012. His role in Suicide Squad is unclear and given how late he has been added it's probably not a huge part. He joins Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Cara Delevingne, Joel Kinnaman, Common, and many more in the villain flick. Harbour is always a right-hand-man sort of character, so don't be surprised if he's working alongside Davis' Amanda Waller.
Suicide Squad opens August 5th 2016.
